George S. Spais (Ph.D., Panteion University of Social & Political Sciences, Greece) is an Adjunct Lecturer of Marketing at Agricultural University of Athens, Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development, Iera Odos 75, Botanikos 118 55, Athens, Greece. His research interests are focused on promotion management and marketing education. He is highly interested in research topics related to effectiveness and efficiency of sport sponsorship programs, educational techniques and objectives in marketing education and marketing ideology. He has edited a book titled Introduction to Technological Innovation Management: From Technology Strategy to the Development of Products and Services through Innovative Ideas (2007, Athens, Greece: Kritiki Publishing). Dr. Spais' works have also appeared in international academic journals such as the: Journal of Strategic Marketing, International Electronic Journal for Leadership in Learning, Journal of Financial Services Marketing, Journal of Korean Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Business Case Studies, Journal of Targeting, Measurement and Analysis for Marketing, Journal of Business and Society and elsewhere. Dr. Spais is an academic member of the Research Unit of Marketing of the Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER). He serves as a regional editor (Continental Europe) of the International Electronic Journal for Leadership in Learning (IEJLL, http://www.ucalgary.ca/~iejll/index.html), and as a member on the editorial boards of (in alphabetical order) Asian Journal of Marketing, Innovative Marketing, International Review of Management, Journal of Business Case Studies, Journal of Promotion Management and Journal of Targeting, Measurement and Analysis for Marketing.
He is the marketing co-editor of the Journal of Applied Business Research and also acting as an ad hoc reviewer for several international academic journals and academic conferences. Since 2008, he serves as a mentor of the Academy of Marketing Science “Doctoral Student Mentor Program”. Additionally, he works as a business consultant for small-medium sized profit and non-profit organizations. He is a member of the Academy of Marketing Science (USA), the European Marketing Academy of the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (Belgium), the Marketing Academy (UK), the EuroMed Academy of Business of the EuroMed Research Business Institute (Cyprus), the Greek Marketing Academy (Greece) and the Hellenic Institute of Marketing (Greece).
