HE TEACHES BY EXAMPLE

When I arrived on the Parent Family scene,
For our Father Supreme!
Twenty-one years' difference might seem
A great gap,
But in the Great Scheme of time it's not
Even a tap!
Of
I have heard.
By all accounts, "praiseworthy" is the
Appropriate word.
He and two younger sisters formed a
Pretend gang.
Jack, Jim and Kitty were the made-up
names of the band!
They all liked to tease him and call
Him Pee Wee,
Until he grew up to be tallest of all
In the family!
Something deep inside him caused
Him to care.
He was always concerned with his
Family's welfare.
During my growing up years there
Was no way to doubt
He was very generous and often
Helped the rest of us out!
He adopted the example our
Parents gave,
Especially the part about
"SAVE, SAVE, SAVE"!
He was like Dad in receiving
Heavenly directives,
Especially when the message
Had marriage as the objective
He waited a long time for the
Perfect wife,
Then Elese Christensen
Entered his life!
They raised a large family;
Two daughters and four sons,
Who taught him great patience,
And how to have fun!
Their five grandchildren bring
Them great joy,
Four bright little girls and
One cute little boy!
Father lived long and left
A lasting mark
Then Vernon became the
Family patriarch!
During his younger years
Didn't mince words or thoughts.
We often received counsel
Whether requested or not!
We now ask his advice
From time to time,
And he gives it with wisdom,
Reason and rhyme!
He loves to visit his family
And other good friends
To them his love he
Graciously extends.
He has been plagued with
Back problems all of his life
And other health concerns
Cause him stress and strife.
We want him to know
We love him a lot
And acknowledge by example
All to us he has taught!
