Richard G. (Rick) Ebel

 

Rick Ebel is principal of Glenrich Business Studies, a marketing communications and research company in Corvallis, Oregon.

 

Until his retirement in 1995, Ebel had been for 26 years director/marketing communications for Promotional Products Association International (PPAI), an Irving, Texas-based trade association. There he directed media dialogue with the Association’s consumer, corporate, member and college publics.

 

Previously he had held communications positions with the National Association of Community Pharmacists and the National Moving & Storage Association. He has also been an editor and reporter for business publications and daily newspapers.

 

Ebel has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University and a master’s degree with public relations emphasis from Northern Illinois University.

 

A frequent contributor to business and trade publications, Ebel has authored sections of Handbook of Sales Promotion (McGraw-Hill), Sales Promotion Handbook (Dartnell) and Best Promotional Tactics (Dartnell). Books he has written include business histories and Brand Compassing, an assessment of brand advertising and its challenges and opportunities in the 21st Century. He is an editorial board member for Journal of Promotion Management.
